The Vesuvius is the most famous volcano in the world, and also one of the most studied. The view from the top is amazing, you can see the City of Naples, and all the coast line with Pompeii and Sorrento.

After the visit of the Vesuvius we will drive to Herculaneum Ruins. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Herculaneum’s fate runs parallel to that of Pompeii. Destroyed by an earthquake in AD 62, the AD 79 eruption of Mt Vesuvius saw it submerged in a 16m-thick sea of mud that essentially fossilized the city.
